INTER-ISLAND FERRY
So in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, inter-island ferries are accessible to get from one island to another, and in Ireland ferries, there are both private and government possibilities. The Phoenix Bay jetty is the major jetty in Port Blair, hence the distance from the airport to the Phoenix Bay jetty is just around 4 kilometers.
You can reserve private ferries in advance; however, there may be certain restrictions, such as not being able to travel to the open deck area or paying government fees. It may only be booked four days in advance, either when you arrive in Andaman, or through your agency or local contacts there.
So the locals get first priority for obvious reasons because this is their only mode of transportation from one island to another and the government ferry prices are lower. There are around 400 to 600 speed boats and their normal birds.
The speed boat takes around 2.5 hours to reach Havelock island from Port Blair, while the normal boat takes around 4 hours, and if you go via Neil island, it will take one hour longer.
HAVELOCK JETTY
Havelock Island is the most popular island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with gorgeous beaches, crystal clear water, and a laid-back feel. 5 You’ll find a lot of people in their cafes and restaurants, and most importantly, Havelock Island is famous for scuba diving and other water activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and so on.
After arriving on Havelock Island, you’ll find a lot of auto-rickshaws available there; you can take one for your drop to the accommodation, and while on the way, you’ll find lots of shops to rent scooters, or you can ask your accommodation
They normally charge 400 to 500rs for 24 hours. Now, on the route from the jetty to the hotel, you’ll pass by the major market area, so stock up on your daily necessities and remain on the island.
RADHANAGAR BEACH
Now there is a petrol station very close to the market area on the way to the Radha Nagar beach, where you can get petrol for 400 rupees for 24 hours, which I believe should be enough.
It’s a perfect island. The first item is the lovely Sunset Beach, which you can use for Rs 400 for 24 hours. I believe that should be plenty.
There are lots of food stalls you can also have local lunch over there or enjoy some coconut water tea coffee snacks fruits etc but this area is usually crowded however you can walk along the beach or within the forest area which runs along the beach which is our favorite.
KALAPATHAR BEACH
So, next to Radha Nagar beach is the Kalapathar beach, which is named after the huge black color drops that can be found there. It is also a beautiful sunrise beach where people gather to watch the sunrise. At the main entrance to the beach area, there are food stalls, souvenir shops, restrooms, and a Coast Guard station.
ELEPHANT BEACH
If you want to perform some very entertaining water sports like jet skiing, Elephant Beach is the place to go. It’s a beautiful beach with gorgeous Bluewater in the afternoon, so there are two ways to get there:
One, you can take a boat from Havelock jetty for around 950 per person, and the other, and more popular, is to trek to Elephant Beach, which takes around 40 minutes and is an easy trend that even the elderly and children can do. You cross the village area, then the forest area, then the mangrove forest, and then you reach the beach.
NEMO BEACH
Scuba diving is done at Beach Number 2 (also known as Nemo Beach) in the Vijay Nagar area, where there is a government resort called Dolphin Resort, which is the main hub area with lots of cafes and restaurants in Govind Nagar and Vijayanagar Beach if you are not staying in a beach property it is very difficult to find the passage to go to the beach.
If you go to these beaches during the high tide, you will discover a turquoise green sea, but if you go during the low tide, you will find the coastline moving fairly fast, revealing the dead coral and it will not be a fantastic site, so manage your time to spend a nice holiday at Havelock island.
WHERE TO EAT?
There are several cafés and eateries in the Havelock Islands. If you truly want to experience some local seafood at a reasonable price, the squid restaurant in the market area is really nice. However, radhaNagar beach can be a wonderful idea to check out some local lunch at a very affordable price.
BUDGET BREAKUP
How much will it cost you to travel to Port Blair, Havelock Island, and Neil Island for 6 to 7 days? The first thing to consider is the airfare fee, which will cost between 5000 and 10,000 rupees one way. After flights to Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, and New Delhi, inter-island boat alternatives are now available.
So, from Port Blair to Havelock, the private fairy would cost between $1300 and $1400 per person, and from Havelock to Neil Island, it would cost around $1100 per person, and from Neil Island to Port Blair, it would cost around $1300 per person. Now, the price of a boat from Aberdeen to Ross Island and North Bay is 750 per person, and in Havelock Island, the price is 750 per person.
I appreciate you providing this important information about Andaman. It might come in handy during my forthcoming vacation.
